Lunch meals are provided in a group setting. The service is to promote the health and well-being of the older adults through the provision of nutritious meals and opportunities for social and recreational interaction.
Volunteers deliver lunch meals to homebound older adults five days a week. These meals help maintain or improve the health of an impaired person to enable him/her to remain in their own home as ling as possible.
N.C. Pre-K is a state-funded, community-based pre-kindergarten program.Designed to provide 4-year old children, who may not otherwise be served, with a valuable educational experience. This part-day program provides young children with access to a specific curriculum and preschool experience to enhance their school readiness. The N.C. Pre-Kindergarten Program standards are built on the premise that in order to be successful academically in school, children need to be prepared in all five of the major domains of development outlined by the National Education Goals Panel.
The Child Advocacy Center provides up to date Child Abuse Training.
Training for professionals and organizations on how to recognize the signs of child abuse and how to report suspicions of child abuse.
Training to educate parents, grandparents and everyone who works with children on how to recognize, prevent and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
This training is to help prevent, know the signs of, and when to report child abuse.
The Community Service Center provides emergency clothing and limited food items for those in need. Must be referred from Dept. of Social Services or other social service agency.
Provides Transitional Housing for women recovering from substance abuse.

Provides quality music & instruction in a Christian setting. Offers private and group instruction music instruction for a wide variety of age from infants to mature adults. Kindermusik classes for birth-5years. Clogging and Christian hip-hop classes for ages 3-adults.
A comprehensive behavioral health care continuum providing a full range of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment, including evaluations, medical management, and group, family and individual therapy. Substance abuse treatment is also available.

The Center for Economic Empowerment and Development is a Lease to Home program. The C.E.E.D is an innovative program focused on assisting people in transitioning from homelessness to home ownership. The main purpose of this program, is to offer individuals and families from all backgrounds, an affordable and safe place to live. This includes rentals as well as the opportunity to become homeowners.
Kindermusik will provide one-on-one training and coaching in utilizing music in daily lesson plans by modeling during 7 weekly sessions for classes of at-risk pre-kindergarten children and their teachers. Each teacher and child will receive Kindermusik curriculum materials including a parent/child magazine/book with story and CD allowing parents and children to build upon classroom experiences. Preschool teachers/assistants will learn methods through observing all class presentations so that concepts and musical activities can be integrated into the teacher’s daily lesson plans. The music professional/licensed Kindermusik Instructor will explore ideas and help develop activities with the preschool teacher utilizing music through numbers, shapes, colors, and letters; explore ways to share music in the child's world in the classroom and at home; and may provide follow-up consultation with preschool teachers to explore ways of enhancing daily experiences with the children. Music Therapy will be provided through one-on-one training and mentoring to improve teacher practice by a contracted Music Therapist for special needs infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at Dorothy Spainhour and special needs preschoolers in Early Intervention classes. Each infant and toddler teacher and child will receive Kindermusik curriculum materials including parent/child book and CD allowing teachers, parents and children to build upon classroom experiences. If funding is available, children ages 3 and 4 at Dorothy Spainhour may receive a Kindermusik home kit.

Helps with medically related needs and quality of life enhancements. Purchases items directly for individuals, which typically include medical equipment, home modifications, and co-payments for treatments or medications not covered by the patient's insurance. Some examples: therapy equipment and sessions not covered by insurance, handicap accessible home and car modifications, mobility items, purchasing of developmental and learning devices, co-pays for medically necessary surgeries and medications, other medical needs as recommended by a medical professional.
