The Eva L. Hansen Learning Library offers high-quality education material and professional equipment for families, child care professionals, child care facilities and early childhood students. The following are some of the wonderful items that are available within the library:
- Professional books, periodicals, and videos
- Parenting books
- Children’s books
- Active play equipment (slides, trikes, etc.)
- Manipulatives (puzzles, sorting/classifying games, etc.)
- Literacy Materials
- Dramatic Play Materials
- Musical Instruments
- Science Materials
- CD-ROMS, cassettes, and DVDs
To become a member of the library a completed application and picture ID are required. Membership is just $5.00 per year. Materials are checked out for two weeks with one two-week extension upon request. Additional fees could include; certain equipment fees, late fees, damage fees, and cleaning fees for all materials and services if policies and procedures are not followed. Policies and procedures will be given to each patron upon initial application for membership.
Story & Art Time and Play Dates
The Learning Library proudly offers Story & Art Time and Play Dates for children birth to five, each week, in cooperation with the Cumberland County Public Library. Visit our Facebook events page to see a list of current activity themes. Activities are free and open to the public however, registration is required.
Seating is limited. Parents, please register your child through Eventbrite.
Registration is required no later than three days prior to the date of the event.
The Mobile Resource Van (Education Express) is an extension of the library serving Cumberland County early childhood professionals and other approved community groups.
