Kindermusik will provide one-on-one training and coaching in utilizing music in daily lesson plans by modeling during 7 weekly sessions for classes of at-risk pre-kindergarten children and their teachers. Each teacher and child will receive Kindermusik curriculum materials including a parent/child magazine/book with story and CD allowing parents and children to build upon classroom experiences. Preschool teachers/assistants will learn methods through observing all class presentations so that concepts and musical activities can be integrated into the teacher’s daily lesson plans. The music professional/licensed Kindermusik Instructor will explore ideas and help develop activities with the preschool teacher utilizing music through numbers, shapes, colors, and letters; explore ways to share music in the child's world in the classroom and at home; and may provide follow-up consultation with preschool teachers to explore ways of enhancing daily experiences with the children. Music Therapy will be provided through one-on-one training and mentoring to improve teacher practice by a contracted Music Therapist for special needs infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at Dorothy Spainhour and special needs preschoolers in Early Intervention classes. Each infant and toddler teacher and child will receive Kindermusik curriculum materials including parent/child book and CD allowing teachers, parents and children to build upon classroom experiences. If funding is available, children ages 3 and 4 at Dorothy Spainhour may receive a Kindermusik home kit.
Build affordable housing, provide homeownership counseling, restore and revitalize low- to moderate-income communities, and promote and develop economic development opportunities through business development, education, and training of youth in Fayetteville and surrounding counties.

Provides education and support for expectant mothers, breastfeeding mothers (new and experienced), and their babies. Offers weekly breastfeeding classes, breastfeeding hot-line, on-line help line, annual Maternity Fair, breast pump rental and sales, and a lending library. Several groups meet in Cumberland County. Provides free legal assistance to income eligible individuals. Handles civil cases, family law, consumer, Social Security matters, elderly law, and public benefits. Does not handle separation and/or divorce. Special units handle cases for older adults and Native Americans. Domestic violence prevention program provides legal assistance to persons who are victims of domestic violence.

The organization conducts research to cure leukemia, lymphoma, and melanoma; provides patient services and public and professional education. Covers Leukemia, MDS Hodgkin's disease, lymphoma, melanoma and other blood cancers. Family Support groups are offered.

COLORS is a council working together to assist families in the Fayetteville area who may have concerns about the development of their children birth to five years. COLORS facilitates access to a comprehensive system of early intervention services for children birth to five years.
Meeting Dates and Times: We meet the first Thursday of every month (except July) at 8:30 AM at the Children’s Developmental Services Agency of the Cape Fear. Parents of children with special needs and professionals are welcome to attend.

Serves family and friend caregivers who provide care for sixy years and older loved ones in a community setting and provides support to sixty and over grandparents raising their grandchildren. Oversees funding and programs for informational services - counseling services - respite services and some supplemental services.
Lunch meals are provided in a group setting. The service is to promote the health and well-being of the older adults through the provision of nutritious meals and opportunities for social and recreational interaction.
Volunteers deliver lunch meals to homebound older adults five days a week. These meals help maintain or improve the health of an impaired person to enable him/her to remain in their own home as ling as possible.
This organization serves family and friend caregivers, who provide care for a 60+ year old loved one in community setting, and support to 60 year old and older grandparents raising their grandchildren. They oversee funding and programs for informational services, counseling services, respite services, and some supplemental services in an effort to support the informal caregiver.

Two halfway houses, and one 3/4 house, that provide assistance to alcoholics and drug- and chemical-dependent men. Accommodations for 24 people at the halfway houses and 7 at the 3/4 house. Assists with finding work and general recovery. Works with ESC and local businesses; offers vocational rehabilitation services. Accepts donations of cash, commodities, food, clothing, appliances, and furniture. Will try to arrange pickup of large items. A thrift Store is located on 1418 Clinton Rd. Counseling handled through CC Mental Health and the VA Medical Center.
