The City of Fayetteville Community Development Deparmtne operates a network of neighborhood resource centers located throughout the city. The centers are in low to moderate income communites to give citizens convenient access to resource. The primary focus is to provide the adult job seeker with educational tools and special training that will enhance employability.
Work First Family Assistance (WFFA) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a time-limited income based program which provides cash assistance and Medicaid coverage to the parent(s) of a minor child. This program also provides a parent(s) with short-term training and other services to assist them in becoming employed and self-sufficient.
Established in 1964, the Action Pathways, formerlly Cumberland Community Action Program, Inc. (CCAP), strives to develop and operate projects that promote the economic and social well-being of individuals, children, families, and communities. CCAP has a long history of providing sustainable programs to the surrounding community with a visible impact throughout southeastern North Carolina, providing life-changing assistance to hundreds of thousands of individuals and families on an annual basis. CCAP is the parent organization for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina (SHFB SE NC); the Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS); the Comprehensive Housing and Weatherization Programs; Self-Sufficiency Programs (ASPIRE); and Head Start. Adolescent Parenting Program (APP) provides support for parenting teens up to age 17. The program works to help parenting teens remain in school, graduate from high school, and delay a second pregnancy.
Volunteers work one-on-one teaching reading and writing skills to Cumberland County adults reading below a 6th grade level.
Provides furniture, household items, clothing, toys, etc. for Soldiers (E-4 and below) and family members if they cannot afford to purchase them or in emergencies.
Alliance Health is the (MCO) Managed Care Organization for behavioral healthcare for citizens of Cumberland, Durham, Johnston and Wake Counties. Our goal is to assist with access to services and resources for Mental Health, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Disorder Services. The ALMS HOUSE or Associated Local Ministries in Service Helping Others in Unfortunate Situations and Experiences provides emergency food, clothing, and financial assistance for Hope Mills and Fayetteville area. A referral from Cumberland County Social Service is required.
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care and support, and the largest private, non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research. Our mission is to & eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Provides support for those caring for loved ones who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, meets on the third Tuesday of each month.

Provides direct financial assistance to low-income kidney patients in need and education to those who are at-risk for kidney disease. Assists with transportation to dialysis, medications, special diet, kidney donor expenses, and other treatment essentials. Also provides specialty programs to help patients afford treatment during emergency travel and recover from natural disasters.

Information, Referral & Follow-up
Assists service members, Department of the Army civilians, and their adult family members in conducting effective job searches. Services include job search counseling, and assistance with resume writing and completing government employment applications. Provides speakers to the public and uses volunteers. Internet access available.

Wilmington Highway. Offers an assortment of recreational activities for all ages. These include picnic areas and shelters, sports fields, lighted tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a children's playground, an 18-hole disk golf course and nature trails. Picnic areas may be reserved in advanced.
Two halfway houses, and one 3/4 house, that provide assistance to alcoholics and drug- and chemical-dependent men. Accommodations for 24 people at the halfway houses and 7 at the 3/4 house. Assists with finding work and general recovery. Works with ESC and local businesses; offers vocational rehabilitation services. Accepts donations of cash, commodities, food, clothing, appliances, and furniture. Will try to arrange pickup of large items. A thrift Store is located on 1418 Clinton Rd. Counseling handled through CC Mental Health and the VA Medical Center.

ASPIRE is a comprehensive program that assists low wealth individuals and families attain the skills and knowledge that is needed in order to become self sufficient. Since funding is limite - individuals are selected to particpate in the program based on their readiness and motivation to accomplish goals to obtain employment.
ABCD is an intervention in primary-care physician offices.[1] An ABCD staff person provides technical assistance and/or support to deliver high-quality comprehensive primary health care, including medical professionals’ use of standardized, validated, developmental and behavioral screening tools. If a developmental disability, delay, or other concern is identified through the screening process, a referral is made to connect the family with the services and resources needed for their child.
