Advocacy is defined as actively supporting a cause. This can be as intense as engaging in efforts to change laws or as simple as talking about PFC to friends and neighbors. As an advocate, your involvement will ensure our community continues to be aware of the needs of young children and the importance of early childhood programs and services to the future of our community’s economy. Effective advocates know their elected officials and are familiar with North Carolina’s legislative process; they stay current on early childhood issues; and inform others of the importance of supporting initiatives that support early childhood care and education.
Whether advocacy is new to you or you have been doing it for years, we can provide you with information and assistance. PFC has a team of community volunteers and staff who can help you contact legislators, help you organize a grassroots advocacy campaign, and keep you informed about the latest news on early childhood issues.
